OH solar tax credits & incentives
OH solar tax credits & incentives

When you install solar in Ohio, you may qualify for these cost savings:

  • Federal tax credit for 30% of the cost. You’ll get this credit if you buy your system or get a loan (not lease). This credit is available through 2025.
  • Ohio sales tax exemption. covers 100% of OH sales tax on your solar system equipment.
  • Ohio property tax exemption. Solar panels can raise your property value and taxes. This 100% exemption of added property value prevents you from paying higher taxes because of your solar system.
  • Solar Renewable Energy Credits (SRECs).. Renewable energy credits that solar owners can either cash out or use to offset their utility bills.
  • Net metering. Get a monthly credit for extra energy generated by your solar panels. Cash in these credits to reduce your utility bill.
Trinity does not guarantee eligibility for, or the amount of, tax credits, tax exemptions, renewable energy credits, or other state and federal incentive programs. Homeowners should consult a tax professional for personalized advice and to determine their specific eligibility for any tax incentives.
